It is, so the source archive uploaded to the Apache repo is self-containing.
A symlink would force the Java SDK to be kept in lockstep with the supervisor,
and we don’t want that in the long run—Java SDK should be allowed to lag
without anything breaking, to keep the release cycles free of each other.
