The `string` parameter of `airflow.utils.hashlib_wrapper.md5` defaults to empty *bytes* and is handed straight to `hashlib.md5`, which rejects a `str` with a `TypeError`. The previous wording read as if a `str` were accepted, so a caller following the documentation could pass one and only discover the mismatch at runtime.
