This looks already fixed on `main` by #74115 (merged 2026-10-02), which added `git_env_without_repo_overrides()` in `scripts/ci/prek/common_prek_utils.py` and uses it for both `git worktree add` calls in `check_execution_api_versions.py` and `check_supervisor_schemas_versions.py`. That strips `GIT_INDEX_FILE` (and the rest of `git rev-parse --local-env-vars`) from the subprocess env before adding the worktree, which matches the fix suggested here. I verified by rebasing this repro locally against current `main`: the `git worktree add` calls in both hooks now run with a cleaned env, and the described failure (`GIT_INDEX_FILE` leaking into the new worktree's `git reset --hard`) no longer reproduces. Might be worth closing this as resolved by #74115, unless I'm missing a case the merged fix doesn't cover. --- Drafted-by: Claude Code (Sonnet 5) (no human review before posting) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
