LucasAnzmann-UI opened a new issue, #74398:
URL: https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/74398

   ### Under which category would you file this issue?

   Airflow Core

   ### Apache Airflow version

   3.3.2

   ### What happened and how to reproduce it?

After upgrading Airflow from 3.1.5 to 3.3.2, the layout of the asset/DAG
dependency graph changed significantly.
In Airflow 3.1.5, the graph layout was much more spacious. Nodes were
distributed more broadly across the canvas and the dependency lines were easier
to follow.

In Airflow 3.3.2, the same graph is rendered in a much more compressed way.
Many nodes are placed very close to a horizontal center line, and the edges now
contain many sharp bends and parallel segments. This makes it much harder to
visually understand the dependency structure, especially for larger asset/DAG
graphs.

I attached screenshots from both versions showing the same part of my graph
data for comparison.

   ### What you think should happen instead?

Is there a configuration/option to use a more spacious layout similar to the
previous behavior in Airflow 3.1.5? Or is there a feature planned for adjusting
the layout in future versions?
And with which Airflow version did the layout orientation change?
