Hi @jgoedeke, I'd like to work on this issue. I've looked through the `partial_subset()` behavior and the `SerializedMappedTaskGroup` inheritance/slots issue described here. I'd like to add a regression test for the shared `children` state and implement the fix using the attrs fields so inherited attributes are copied as well.
