o-nikolas opened a new pull request, #75246:
URL: https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/75246
A run of this test failed with "gzip: stdin: not in gzip format", which said
nothing about what went wrong: curl without --fail exits 0 on an HTTP error and
writes the error body to stdout, so the status code was discarded and tar was
left to complain about the HTML it had been handed. The intent here is
diagnostic -- a future failure should name the status curl saw. The retries
cover a transient blip, not GitHub's per-IP rate limiting, which is one
plausible cause of the original failure.
The eksctl URL also still pointed at the old weaveworks org, whose redirect
works today but is not guaranteed indefinitely. Additionally, the AWS CLI
install in the same file had the same missing --fail, where the confusing error
would have come from unzip instead; it has not been observed failing but is
hardened alongside.
