Indexing a `LazyXComSequence` with an object that implements `__index__` but isn't an `int` (e.g. a `numpy.int64`) always raised a `TypeError` that wrongly said ints are rejected. A plain list accepts such an index. `__getitem__` converted the key and then raised anyway, because the `raise` wasn't in an `else` branch.
