I think changing the model is a bit too steep for this @vincbeck ! The only situation where a trigger is sharing multiple assets is in the situation where the source file the assets refer to are equivalent. Right now, we already have per-asset state stores that ETag the underlying source. The only issue is that each of these state stores don't update in lock-step, and if they did (which #75521 introduces), then we could read ANY of them and they would be equivalent, so we can just pick the first one.
