I checked https://github.com/apache/incubator-airflow/blob/master/airflow/hooks/base_hook.py#L66 . Connections from environment variables can only specify `uri`. Attributes like `extra` (https://github.com/apache/incubator-airflow/blob/master/airflow/models.py#L662) would be leave blank.
