Thanks for verifying this. I think we should not treat partial Hive visibility as expected behavior. If Hive cannot see all data across multiple directories, the operation should be considered invalid, so I'd prefer expecting `CannotAlterHiveLocationException` for these non-partitioned cases as well. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
