@AlexGacon It looks more and more like the optimizer of postgres 16 does a very good job (is upgrading something you could consider?). I'm currently experimenting with appending the where clause directly to the user provided query assuming that we always have aliases for the id, tags, and geom columns. I liked the current version with a subquery, as it covered most cases and didn't require to parse the query with JSQLParser to account for most corner cases (queries with existing WHERE clause, queries with GROUP BY and HAVING clauses, etc.).
