In a recent discussion on the mailing list [1] it came up that it's not always
clear when reading from files with various file formats what exactly is the
right way to do so.
Key quote: "To contribute a new IO connector, how can I determine whether it
should be implemented as a source transform or as a scheme for the TextIO?"
