I've been talking to some folks at ApacheCon with related projects. Here are a
few generic, useful ideas.
1. Integrating with Apache Streams (met [~steveblackmon] at ApacheCon) might be
useful here, because they are already providing connectors/connections to many
APIs. Maybe we should make it easy to read from a particular type of Apache
Streams stream and that's just a wonderful transform that is a source of data
from any REST API. That way we won't have to duplicate effort.
2. The other generalizable, and useful thing, could be to pick a real standard
such as OpenAPI and implement a generic connector. [~bigbluehat] pointed me at
OpenAPI and may be able to name others.
