Fyi - we have a first version of checkpoints in
[Scio](https://github.com/spotify/scio) - [checkpoint
package](https://github.com/spotify/scio/blob/master/scio-extra/src/main/scala/com/spotify/scio/extra/checkpoint/package.scala).
