I'm wondering if we can keep the current sync write API and just add new async write API to this? If sync API is really slow and useless then we can deprecate it and remove in the future but I'm against breaking user API changes without deprecation period (usually it's 3 releases for Beam). @Akshay-Iyangar wdyt?
