Yes, it was directly ported to the core and then incrementally improved.
> 2. Is it possible to use the plugin at the same time?
Most likely they will conflict. More than once I've seen users report
errors that result from trying to use [th:GitPlugin] with Trac 1.0. The
!GitPlugin was integrated into Trac in release 1.0. I've considered
modifying the plugin code so that the plugin will be automatically
disabled and a warning logged when trying to use it with Trac 1.0. Similar
changes could be made to the [th:BatchModifyPlugin].
