Peter Donald closed BUILDR-683.
-------------------------------

    Resolution: Not A Problem
      Assignee: Peter Donald

You can override the location of a project by passing the :base_dir option
during project definition. i.e.

{code}
define :foo, :base_dir => 'somewhere/else' do
  p "base dir is " + project.base_dir
end
{code}

This is documented at http://buildr.apache.org/rdoc/Buildr/Project.html

As Jean-Philippe indicated, I would recommend asking on the mailing list as you
are more likely to get a better response.

As this is not a bug report or a feature request I am going to close the issue.
Reopen and describe the issue in detail if this is not the case

>
> Needing to have the build file at top most directory is artificial
> Say my directory structure is like
> workspace / ProjA
>                   / ProjB
>                   / ProjC
> I should be able to place the build file in ProjA such that is it applicable
> to selected projects which are in directories not necessarily sub directories
> of ProjA
