Fixed by setting the timeout of the restAssured `
.config(RestAssuredConfig.config()
.httpClient(HttpClientConfig.httpClientConfig().setParam("http.connection.timeout",
60000)))`
Once te timeout is set, there is no need to keep new threadExecutor
