I had a look at this and I am able to reproduce the error. However, just for the sake of understanding. The patching piece of code you've posted is not really responsible of the problem. That part is in charge to just apply the Kubernetes resource to the cluster. What's really happening is that the cluster is rejecting the resource during Knative API validation for reasons I'm not yet able to understand.
