# Description [CAMEL-25262](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25262) Using `xtokenize` through the generic language expression (`language:` in YAML DSL, `.language("xtokenize", ...)` in Java DSL) failed at route startup with `NullPointerException: Cannot load from object array because "properties" is null`, because the namespaces option was read with `properties[4]`. It now uses the null-safe `property(...)` helper like the other options. This fixes problem 1 of the ticket only. Problem 2 (Choice compiling all branches) and the questions in the ticket are not changed. Tests: `XMLTokenizeLanguageNoPropertiesTest` (camel-stax) and `SplitTest.splitXtokenizeWithLanguage` (YAML DSL, the route from the ticket).
