https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25374 In the local-model benchmark (r5, connect-file-processing steps 2 and 3, both used all 20 tool calls), the model wrote this six times: ```yaml parameters: include: \".*\\.json\" ``` In a plain YAML value a backslash before a quote is text, not escaping. The quotes and backslashes became part of the regex, so no file matched. The validator reported the doubled backslash (CAMEL-24854) and suggested `include='\".*\.json\"'`, which still has the stray quotes. Now `include`/`exclude` values that start or end with a quote character (with or without a backslash) are checked first: ``` Line 21: file: include has quote characters in its value (\".*\\.json\"): in YAML a backslash before a quote is text, not escaping, and the quotes become part of the regex. Write the line as include: '.*\.json' (single quotes, one backslash before the dot) ``` Tests: a new case in `SourceValidatorEndpointTest`; the camel-jbang-core suite passes (1511). 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) https://claude.ai/code/session_01STT6whBgK1AqsSsUKrnE8m -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
