@davsclaus and @oscerd Sorry, after working on the latest requested changes, I realized I misunderstood how the SjmsMessage Exchange was handled. This misunderstanding led to my decision to always eager materialize the body and headers of the individual exchanges of the batch. I now think the batch consumer should only eager materialize under the same conditions as the regular consumer. It is a small code change which would make the batch consumer more consistent with the existing behaviour, and it would avoid the issues @oscerd raised.
