Thanks for the review. On point 1 (`EnumTypeConverter.doConvertTo` calling `tc.convertTo()` on the try path): agreed, fixed in a5bcae4e2525. A direct converter found by the lookup is now called with `tryConvertTo` when `tryConvert` is set. The new test `TypeConverterLookupCacheTest.testTryConvertToEnumTriesTheDirectTypeConverter` registers an `Integer` to enum converter whose `convertTo` throws, and checks that `tryConvertTo` calls only the converter's `tryConvertTo` (it fails without the fix).
