Sorry this went unanswered. The source task does not read Kafka Connect's stored source offsets today: each record carries the endpoint and the exchange id rather than a component position such as the Salesforce replay id, so there is no way to resume from the offset storage. That general capability is tracked in #17, so closing this as a duplicate of it.
