## CAMEL-26674: camel-chaos - reject rules that cannot work The first of the follow-ups from the hands-on round of camel-chaos stage 1 ([CAMEL-26667](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-26667)). Each of these rules was accepted, and then either never fired or skipped the error handler it was meant to test: | Rule | Before | Now | |---|---|---| | `step=enrich error exception=java.lang.InterruptedException` | Camel marks the exchange interrupted and stops routing it: no `onException`, redelivery or dead letter channel (seen in a running app: 3 failed exchanges, 0 redeliveries) | rejected, with the reason | | `component=http:localhost error` | `component=` is matched against the scheme only, so it matched nothing | rejected, suggesting `endpoint=http:localhost*` | | `endpoint=x error rate=every:10 until=5` | `until` counts matches, so the rule ended before its first fault | rejected | | `error exception=<class with only a no-arg constructor> message=down` | the message was dropped silently | rejected | The doc said `\"`, `\'` and `\\` are escapes inside a quoted value, but only the quote that opened the value and `\\` were. Now either quote can be escaped, as the doc says, so `message="it\'s"` gives `it's`. Docs: `chaos.adoc` (and its catalog copy) lists the new rejections. Tests: `ChaosRuleParserTest`; all 534 tests of camel-chaos pass. _Claude Code on behalf of Claus Ibsen_ 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
