EmryZhang opened a new pull request, #97: URL: https://github.com/apache/casbin-jcasbin-jdbc-adapter/pull/97
This prepares JDBC Adapter 2.14.0 for the Apache release process. RC tags create unsigned source candidates without publishing to Maven; final publication verifies and reuses the voted ASF source originals before publishing convenience packages. The change keeps Java 8 compatibility and `org.casbin:jdbc-adapter`, updates dependency and build-tool versions, removes the Oracle driver from default dependencies, and documents driver setup and disposable database testing. It adds ASF headers and incubation metadata, puts the project legal files in all three JARs, and packages complete licenses for the JDK 25 Javadoc resources. The release workflow rejects replacing an existing GitHub release and verifies promoted source contents against the tag. ### Review before merge - The six existing source copyright notices are proposed to move into `NOTICE`, retaining their exact 2018/2020/2021 wording. This is a proposed change, not a claim of prior authorization. Please have the copyright owner or an authorized agent explicitly confirm this relocation in the PR, or link an existing permission, as required by the [ASF source-header policy](https://www.apache.org/legal/src-headers.html). - The proposed compatibility choice is to retain `org.casbin:jdbc-adapter` for existing consumers. Please review that choice against the [Incubator Maven distribution guidance](https://incubator.apache.org/guides/distribution.html#maven-distribution) and identify any additional disposition needed before adoption. This PR does not claim an IPMC exception has already been granted. ### Validation - Built all three JARs from a fresh source archive with Java 8u504, Maven 3.9.16 and JDK 25 for Javadoc. Checked packaged legal files, source correspondence, Java 8 bytecode, complete incubation text and documentation resources. Six deliberately invalid documentation packages were rejected. - RAT 0.18 accounts for all 25 source files: 19 standard files, four notice/license files and two explicitly excluded declarative CSV test fixtures; no unknown or unapproved findings. - The prior database build ran nine tests and another nine during coverage. Those results are reused: this final update only relocates source comments, retains identical executable instructions and test bodies, and leaves project dependencies unchanged. Database tests were not rerun for the notice relocation; Oracle is not covered. - Twelve source-release verifier tests passed with mocked GPG/network, and both workflows passed actionlint. The newly resolved Javadoc plugin's 43 actual artifacts were checked for licenses and OSV matches after patching three flagged tool dependencies; no matches remained at the check time. Hosted CI still needs to run against this PR, including the Temurin 25 doclet (the local documentation build used Oracle JDK 25). No RC tag, signing, staging, vote or publication has been performed. The applicable release votes remain separate from PR review. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
