We should be certain to test this with offheap_objects, btw, since this also 
reduces heap use and increases the number of records we can store. We should 
also not generally be benchmarking use cases with clustering columns (or very 
few cql rows and very few data columns, i.e. low cell counts), since they are 
less likely to exhibit the change, and we have plenty of users with partitions 
with low cell counts.
