Jon Haddad commented on CASSANDRA-6230: --------------------------------------- Definitely makes a bunch of operational tasks easier. For people with spinning disks, would it be recommended that this go on a drive with data or the commit log? My assumption would be the data drive, otherwise it would interfere with the append only nature of the commit log. Maybe that's not a factor if you're only doing an fsync every 10s? > Write hints to a file instead of a table > ---------------------------------------- > > Key: CASSANDRA-6230 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-6230 > Project: Cassandra > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Core > Reporter: Jonathan Ellis > Assignee: Aleksey Yeschenko > Priority: Minor > Fix For: 3.0 > > > Writing to a file would have less overhead on both hint creation and replay. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
