While I'm not absolutely against this in principle, this will make rebases of 
CASSANDRA-8099 (and probably other outstanding work) *very* painful to rebase 
if committed now (CASSANDRA-6717 might also be impacted amongst other). And 
since it's more nitpicking than critical, I ask that this is *not* committed 
either until just before the 3.0 freeze when we know no big outstanding patch 
are out there, or very early in 3.1 when we've branched it out.
