yes, we know c1.xlarge is relatively small in terms of the memory resource for
cassandra. We haven't identified any other resource contention on this instance
type with our application is the reason that we haven't turned to another high
capacity instance type. Also c1.xlarge gave us a cheap solution with enough
cheap storage.
The swap is enabled and swappiness is set at 60%.
