We can't put this in a stable release series until we can commit to not 
breaking backwards compatibility as we fix things.  We should commit to trunk, 
then once everything is stablilized we can consider backporting to 0.7.x.  (Not 
to mention 0.7.0 is deep into the rc series, it's too late to add major 
features even if it were at no-known-problems.)
