I think the problem comes in when you have a complex data model with
transparent views of a root data source; I could easily see someone dropping a
column without realizing there was a specific MV w/that data in it that really
needed it.
A decent alternative may be introducing the CASCADES keyword to indicate that
you're ok with it taking out the MV columns, similar to postgres and others.
