Ariel Weisberg commented on CASSANDRA-9023:
-------------------------------------------
I tried to reproduce this on a quad-core i5 Sandy Bridge 65 watt SSD Linux
desktop with the test application running on my laptop and the only test case I
ran was the one that calls insertWithoutTTL with the numbers and iterations you
described. I hard coded the young generation to 2 gigabytes and the old
generation to 8. 16 gigabytes of RAM total.
I used revision 7e6644075e687c5eb16c17301cf3e53e327e4144 from your repo and a
cassandra 2.0 revision. I can't remember because the original post I made for
this got lost. It would have been 2.0.13 or later.
The only thing I noted is that there was enough load to keep the server pegged,
but compaction completed shortly after so it wasn't falling far behind.
