[~pdehlke] : the issue of hanging streams is generally being
examined/addressed, though not in the context of this ticket.
If your hang during removenode is repeatable, if you can report a jstack stack
trace or any log messages that indicate error, that might help progress on this
specific manifestation of hanging streams.
(PS - as an aside, I have met you IRL, we worked together at shockwave.com,
lol! Small internet!)
