The problem exists on 2.1+ so I've attached patches accordingly. I've tested
locally for 2.1+ and, whilst 2.2 and 3.0 work fine, there is a [bigger
problem|http://cassci.datastax.com/job/cassandra-2.1_dtest/lastCompletedBuild/testReport/cqlsh_tests.cqlsh_copy_tests]
for 2.1 that hides this one.
I've started dtest CI only for 3.0:

[~thobbs] do you have time to review this small patch?
[~mambocab] is anybody looking at the 2.1 problem? I think it may be related to
CASSANDRA-8970, commit 3c0a1a5c1a77ca1148bef1712a2859400d85ea8c.
