Committed an extra test to cover NTS to 3.0 as
[c7e74f349455bbdb6efd88e1b68a75ac1da83284|https://github.com/apache/cassandra/commit/c7e74f349455bbdb6efd88e1b68a75ac1da83284].
In your case, I would suggest taking snapshotted schema sstables (we snapshot
before migrating them all on startup in 3.0), and trying the process again.
If you still face that issue, please reopen this ticket, but for now I'm
closing as Cannot Reproduce. Thanks.
