I'm +1 to all of Sylvain's points.  I would definitely prefer to be able to use 
{code}WHERE t >= now() - 2h{code} as sugar for the more verbose {code}WHERE t 
>= date_sub(now(), 1h){code} or whatever the equivalent would be.
