Status: Patch Available (was: In Progress)
Patch uses recycled {{DataOutputBuffer}}s instead of allocating new ones.
Also introduces {{DataOutputBuffer.asNewBuffer()}} to replace some
{{ByteBuffer.wrap(out.getData(), 0, out.getLength())}}.
