Committed version 2 to 2.2 and merged upwards. Not going to touch 2.1, as this
is not a critical bug, by any definition. Also, in the future, please submit
properly formatted patches that can be applied directly, as per [this
document|https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d_AzYQo74de9utbbpyXxW2w-b0__sFhC7b24ibiJqjw/view].
