I'm leaning to go with the proposed patch with a warning message as suggested
by Benjamin. But in any case, this needs to be documented. I'd propose that any
patch would also have to add a page
[here|http://cassandra.apache.org/doc/latest/configuration/index.html]
describing if and how logging can be customized and with a list of all relevant
config files.
