Adam Holmberg created CASSANDRA-13453:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: Outline the Procedure for Coordinating Client-Impacting
Changes with Integrated Drivers
                 Key: CASSANDRA-13453
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-13453
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Documentation and Website
            Reporter: Adam Holmberg

With new contributors driving client-impacting changes, people are wondering
about policies governing driver updates, who does what, and how to coordinate
those thing (recent examples:
[13304|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-13304],
[11471|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-11471]).

We could add something to the contribution docs to lay this out for future
reference.

I was thinking of adding something to the [Cassandra
Development|https://cassandra.apache.org/doc/latest/development/index.html]
section on the site. I'm interested in input on where to put it -- whether to
create a new section for it, or try to fold it into an existing one.

Since it pertains to this process, I was also considering bringing in the
[Bundled
Drivers|https://wiki.apache.org/cassandra/HowToContribute#Bundled_Drivers]
section from the old wiki.
