I don't object an update of slf4j in trunk.
[~spod] Patch LGTM.

In the past we already updated some libraries if necessary and if then in 
trunk. But not just because it's a newer version - that doesn't justify a 
change in a stable branch IMO.

TBH, I would not just assume that a newer patch version just fixes issues - new 
issues can be introduced and affect systems seriously.
