Still needs a patch and a reviewer, and I don't have the personal bandwidth for
either.
I hope (expect) the reviewer to be very diligent in confirming that the upgrade
dtests are run with compression enabled, and it'd be extra nice if we could
confirm that the upgrade dtests use different lz4 compression levels to make
sure that upgrading this library doesn't introduce data corrupting regressions
for existing users
