I've played around with various forms of pg-style strings in CASSANDRA-7769
(the ticket that introduced this).
TL;DR there is [a

that can handle all this, but making that work in cqlsh turned out to be super
difficult. TBH, I think that is the only viable and probably non-surprising way.
