I'm not really sure how to respond to that. I'm not trying to be harsh, and I
hope Benjamin's feelings are not the issue in question here.
The semantic implications of the decision taken here were not expressed on
JIRA, let alone the mailing list, so the likelihood of anyone noticing to
consider it was extraordinarily low. Should all implied impacts to the project
that slip by the community's notice go unconsidered?
Surely the only relevant fact is that we actually still have time before
release to solicit the community's feedback? This is something many decisions
could have benefited from in the past.
