C. Scott Andreas commented on CASSANDRA-14880:
----------------------------------------------

Hi [~1124402301], thanks for filing the issue.

Materialized Views are classified as an experimental feature in Cassandra;
please take a look at the following, which explain a bit more:

–
[http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/cassandra-user/201710.mbox/%3cetpan.59f24f38.438f4e99.7...@apple.com%3E]

– [https://docs.datastax.com/en/cql/3.3/cql/cql_using/knownLimitationsMV.html]

Schema changes in Cassandra are somewhat expensive due to the need to propagate
them across the cluster, and materialized views even moreso. It's not likely
that creating tables, materialized views, dropping them, and recreating them in
a tight loop would be successful, and it's also unlikely that changes could be
made to Cassandra in a short time period to make this feasible.

You might also consider joining and asking the user@ list, where additional
contributors and users may be able to offer suggestions for alternate designs
for your application: http://cassandra.apache.org/community/

> timeout period",for example:
>  for i=0; i<100; i++ {
>           create table;
>           create materialized view;
>           drop materialized view;
>           drop table;
