We should lay the groundwork for supporting different versions of Cassandra
with different capabilities. For example, running a repair in 4.0 would need
to use JMX (or the agent described in CASSANDRASC-16), but might have a new CQL
syntax in Cassandra 5.0. The layout of virtual tables could also change,
requiring version specific logic.
I am strongly biased towards using gradle subprojects to keep the logic for
each version isolated.
