FYI: Contains some circleci changes that fixed my test failures.
To elaborate, I ported the build over to Docker for Java 8 and it started
succeeding. I think there is something peculiar about CircleCI's baremetal
machines that causes this failure. Same build running fails after 4m21s on
baremetal and succeeds within 2m inside Docker.
