[~jolynch] PS on the mystery of it all.. I will say I didn't check 100pct well. 
I looked at the crash file attached here

 and the only line that could have crashed was the line mentioned. I didn't 
actually revert to the prior change to see if it would have worked with just 
`Native.register("c");` I assumed after noticing this line changing aligned 
with other version based comments, it was the culprit. It could be that in this 
platform even the prior line didn't work.
