Some validation checks present in {{AbstractType.writeValue()}} in
{{cassandra-3.11}} are not there in {{trunk}}.
In 3.11 the checks used assertion. It would make sense to use {{IOExceptions}}
instead as used in {{AbstractType.readValue()}}.
